Register Rewards are a coupon that prints out AFTER you pay for your first transaction. The register rewards are like money to use at Walgreens on your next purchase. The only tricky thing to watch out for is when you go to use the Register Rewards (RR) to pay for your next purchase, you can't have more RR's than items. So, if you make purchases and wind up with 4 RR's worth $12 each, for example, you can't use all 4 of them on one large item.....like White strips. You'd have to have as many items in your transaction as coupons, and RR's count as a coupon.
For me, this Cottonelle deal is worth the hassle. AND, I have a Walgreens close to me, on the corner. I'll be there bright and early Sunday morning. :-)

ReplyDeleteHere's another thing to think about regarding Walgreen's Register Rewards. If you purchase the two packs of Cottonelle toilet paper, use your store and manufacturers coupons, get the Cottonelle and your $3 Register Rewards, be careful because you can not use that $3 RR on the same scenerio to purchase more Cottonelle.
ReplyDeleteHere's why. Cottonelle is manufacturered by Kimberly-Clark and the $3 RR is really coming from them. Walgreen's couponing policy is set up that you can not use a RR from Kimberly-Clark for more Kimberly-Clark products. Kimberly-Clark makes Viva paper towels, Clorox, 409, Kleenex, etc. So just keep in mind that the $3 RR that Walgreens just handed over to you can not be used on anything Kimberly-Clark. Just be aware!
Rite Aid and CVS are not set up that way. A Rite Aid Up+ (same thing as Walgreen's Register Rewards) can be used on the same product over and over again! I'm just sayin'...something to take into consideration!
Janet, true! In my case, with the kids being home ALL DAY (can you tell I'm ready to be done?) we go through a TON of toilette paper! It is a bummer that you can't 'roll' the RR's from one transaction to another identical transaction. But, given the vacinity of my Walgreens, and the fact that my walgreens is generally fully stocked, while my Rite Aid seems to be out of things a lot....for me it's worth getting the RR's and holding onto them for something else. Last week I did the Splenda deal, making $1 per box of Splenda after RR's. I accrued $13 in RR's (4 slips total), used them to get White Strips, toilette paper, and toothpaste. So, it worked out well in that particular scenario. It's a bit of a gamble that there will be something worth spending it on before it expires.
ReplyDeleteI hear you though, Walgreens is a PAIN! If it was toothpaste, I wouldn't spend the time or energy. but, toilette paper....it seems like we can never get enough! ;-)
